报告人简介:
1、Dr. Xing-Cong Li
Dr. Xing-Cong Li received his B.S. degree in Medicinal Chemistry from Shanghai Medical University (now Fudan University) in 1987. He earned an M.S. in Natural Products Chemistry from Kunming Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and obtained a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Science from Hiroshima University (Japan) in 1995. After working as a visiting scientist for a year or so at the University of Iowa, he joined the National Center for Natural Products Research at the University of Mississippi as Postdoctoral Research Associate in 1997. He was appointed Research Scientist in 1999 and progressed to Senior Research Scientist in 2005 and Research Associate Professor in 2007. Dr. Li has also served as Co-Director for the Sino-US Traditional Chinese Medicine Research Center since 2007.
Dr. Li’s primary research interest includes anti-infective natural products discovery, Traditional Chinese Medicine research, and determination of absolute configuration of natural products using theoretically calculated circular dichroism. He has published more than 90 peer-reviewed journal articles/reviews/book chapters, holds one US patent, and serves on the editorial advisory board for Current Bioactive Compounds and as a reviewer for several leading journals in the field of natural products chemistry. Dr. Li has received awards of President Scholarship of Chinese Academy of Sciences, First Prize of the Second National Congress of Young Pharmaceutical Researchers of Chinese Pharmaceutical Association, Science and Technology Prize for Young Pharmaceutical Researchers of Chinese Pharmaceutical Association, and Neish Award of Phytochemical Society of North America.
2、Dr. Jeanne Rader
Dr. Rader received her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Syracuse University, Syracuse, New York. She received her Ph.D. from the Sloan-Kettering Division of the Cornell University Graduate School of Medical Sciences, NY, NY, where she focused on mechanisms of resistance to antifolate drugs used in cancer chemotherapy. She was a Postdoctoral Fellow of the American Cancer Society at the Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation,
Dr. Rader is currently the Director of the Division of Bioanalytical Chemistry in the Office of Regulatory Science in FDA’s Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition. Her responsibilities include planning and coordinating the conduct of research on nutrients and nutritive ingredients in foods and dietary supplements; organic food contaminants including mycotoxins, allergens, and components of dietary supplement ingredients; elemental content of foods and dietary supplements; and substances of safety concern in cosmetic products and their ingredients. Areas of particular interest include folate fortification and methods of analysis for trans fatty acids and components of preparations containing Momordica, Comfrey, Stevia and aloe. She is an active participant in the cooperative agreement between the Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition and the National Center for Natural Products Research of the University of Mississippi.
Dr. Rader has authored more than 90 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals, 8 reviewed book chapters and more than 80 abstracts for presentation at national and international meetings. She received FDA’s 2002 Scientific Achievement Award for Excellence in Analytical Science for her work on methods of analysis for total folate and trans fatty acids and FDA’s 2005 Outstanding Service Award for supervisory achievements in the areas of methods development and application, and database management and evaluation. She recently served on the Planning Committee for the U.S. Pharmacopeia’s Food Protein Workshop: Developing a Toolbox of Analytical Solutions to Address Adulteration. She is a member of the editorial boards of European Food Research & Technology and Journal of AOAC International.
