报告人简介Yi Zhou obtained his bachelor degree form Sichuan University in 1984; and his master degree from Department of Biology in Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Sciences and the University of Science and Technology of China in 1987; then he received his doctoral degree in Cell Biology in University of Miami in 1995. In 1995-1996, Dr. Zhou worked as a research associate in Dr. Merietta Lees Lab, University of Miami School of Medicine. In 1996-1998, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow in Dr. Leonard I. Zon lab, Division of Hematology and Oncology, Childrens Hospital, Harvard Medical School and Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Boston, MA. He currently is an Instructor in Pediatrics at Childrens Hospital Boston, Harvard Medical School and Director of the Genomics Core of the Stem Cell Program at Children's Hospital Boston.

Dr. Zhous main research interests are as follow:

1. Functional genomics and epigenetics

2. Hematopoiesis during vertebrate development

3. Stem cell biology

4. Vertebrate body patterning during embryonic development

5. Functions of localized mRNAs and mechanisms of mRNA localization

报告题目斑马鱼中的干细胞研究

报告人简介:周勇2001年毕业于中国海洋大学药物化学专业,获学士学位;2001-2006年通过中国海洋大学与北京协和医科大学联合培养,取得了药理学博士学位。随后分别于2006-2008年在加拿大渥太华大学健康研究所;2008-2011年在美国哈佛医学院心血管研究中心从事博士后研究。2011年入选中组部“青年千人计划”。现为中国科学院上海生命科学研究院/上海交通大学医学院健康科学研究所研究员,发育与疾病研究组长。

周勇研究员的主要研究方向为:1)正常造血干细胞和血液病干细胞恶性转化的分子遗传机制;2)心脏干细胞的信号调控与先天性心脏病致病机制。在哈佛医学院的工作首次论证了在脊椎动物斑马鱼中存在第二心区(heart field),TGFß结合蛋白3(ltbp3)不仅标记了第二心区干细胞,是干细胞介入心脏动脉极所必须的功能蛋白;而且发现了TGFß是调控第二心区干细胞的主要信号通路。该研究成果以第一作者发表于2011Nature上,编辑特别推荐并评论:“这在跳动着! 斑马鱼中未曾预料的第二组心脏干细胞。” 周勇博士精通斑马鱼平台技术,包括通过人工染色体工程技术、Gateway克隆和锌指敲除等技术构建转基因斑马鱼及突变系,并建立了用于心脏干细胞命运追踪及药物高通量筛选的模型。
